A lot of people have heard about two big companies, NetQuote and Esurance, and a lot of people have questions about these companies. NetQuote has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, and in CNN Money, and the Wall Street Journal, while Esurance is all over the television and in internet ads as well. The main question people want to know about these big-name companies is which one has the lowest auto insurance rates. Unfortunately, that question points to the fact that many people misunderstand exactly what it is these two companies actually do.
First of all, neither NetQuote or Esurance offer their customers or site visitors automobile insurance. Instead, both companies serve to offer their clients automobile insurance rate quotes, free of charge. This means that they both collect automobile insurance rate quotes, based on the facts with which you provide them, from a variety of different insurance companies. This allows you, in turn, to examine the different quotes and pick a provider based off of them. Therefore, your resulting insurance would not be through either NetQuote or Esurance but through the insurance provider whose quote you picked.
Both sites offer other helpful information and services to their visitors as well. NetQuote, which offers as many as ten auto insurance rate quotes in as little as six minutes, also provides articles and other basic information on choosing an insurance provider, understanding the different types of insurance, various insurance discounts, and on choosing a provider intelligently. The site also sends subscribers a free monthly newsletter with tips on saving money on their automobile insurance. Most of the quotes and information offered will be promotional towards Allstate, Farmer’s Insurance, Nationwide Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, 21st Century Insurance, and State Farm Insurance, though other companies are represented as well.
Just like NetQuote, Esurance offers rate quotes from a variety of different providers. However, Esurance does have a related company that they hope visitors will end up using for insurance in the end. This makes the site and its quotes somewhat of an advertising ploy, but it can still be helpful for gathering information. Visitors can also use the site for online repair monitoring and to find out the latest news in the auto insurance world. We suggest using a combination of both sites for learning more and for gaining information about different automobile insurance opportunities
Really, it doesn’t matter which site you use to get quotes for automobile insurance, or even if you use one of these sites or not. All that matters is that you get free rate quotes, either from a site like one of these or from the insurance companies themselves, and that you take the time to sit down and compare them thoroughly. If you don’t’ get a wide variety of rate quotes, you’ll have no idea if you’re overpaying for automobile insurance or if you could be saving a lot more money elsewhere. We suggest taking your time and putting in the work it takes to save.
