What are you paying right now for your car insurance? If you are paying $100 a month then wouldn’t you like to see it drop down to $50 a month or even less? This is what many people want and I know just how to make that happen. All you have to do in order to get your car insurance payment to drop down roughly halfway is to simply follow the tips I have outlined below.

How to cut your car insurance payment in half

Higher deductible – The first thing that you must do is raising your deductible so that your insurance payments are not so high. If you are a decent driver and you barely get in accidents then this would be able to save you quite a bit of money every month. The only thing I caution people on is not to go from the lowest deductible to the highest unless you are prepared to pay that amount.

Lower insurance amount – If you have a car that is somewhat paid off then you can easily lower the insurance amount. For instance if the car that you are insuring is worth $10,000 and you only owe $5,000 on it or even if you don’t owe anything on it then you could lower the total insurance amount from $10,000 down to $5,000. This could save you a bundle and the nice thing about it is if you are under a lenders orders they won’t care what you do to protect yourself as long as their portion of the property is protected against damages.

Make automatic payments – Something that most people don’t do is make automatic payments every month for their car insurance and I don’t know why people don’t do this. The reason why you should do this is because insurance companies give an average of 10% off the monthly total for anybody that is willing to sign up for automated payments each and every month.

Ask for more discounts – This is very simple but if you want a discount then just ask for it. All you need to do is ask the agent if there are any more discounts that you could get and then they will let you know, it is that simple.
