If you’re looking for a holiday home to give you a much-needed break, you could well be considering the benefits of a static caravan or park home. But, there’s often some confusion between the two, with many people thinking that the names are interchangeable. In fact there are some distinct differences between each of them, and that’s always going to have an impact on the insurance implications.

A static caravan is exactly as it sounds – a caravan that doesn’t normally move once it’s been correctly positioned. It usually finds its home on a caravan site, often being used as a holiday home and rented out when you’re not personally using it. A park home, on the other hand, is slightly different. It’s made to look more like a proper home, usually having similarities to many modern bungalows, and is often seen as a permanent residence instead of simply being a place for holidays.

As such, the insurance implications are markedly different. You’ll want to Read full post…

Bristol West Insurance has a link on their page to The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud website with some useful information for consumers discussing how prevalent auto insurance fraud really is.  One particular article discusses how even minor “fudging of details” can be considered fraud and ends up costing insurers and ultimately consumers a lot of money.

Auto insurance fraud is not only committed by hardened criminals or fraud rings.  Many normal and generally honest people commit fraud through leaving out or changing minor details.  Some people feel they are owed more because of all the premiums they have paid so they tell a little white lie to get a little extra money.  They feel it’s a small amount and won’t hurt anyone.  The truth is, with so many people thinking this way, the losses to the insurance companies can really add up and at this point the costs are passed on to the customers through higher auto insurance quotes.

Ask yourself if you may have fudged the details just a bit in your favor.  Here are so

The Motor Insurance Database has urged the car owners to check their registration with them and be insured through car insurance supermarket. The firm is also working with different UK insurance providers like Allianz, Aviva, Zurich and RSA to check the details of their customers recording in their database.

The car owners can themselves check their car registration number logged with MID online and in case the car owners do not find their car registered with MID, they can contact their insurance provider immediately to update the records. This will help the MID in correctly updating the data and avoid any warning letter to be sent to the car insurance owner by mistake.
The launch of new Continuous Insurance scheme by June 2011 makes it compulsory for the car owner to have protective insurance cover for their car whether you are driving on road or keeping in garage. The car owners, whose insurance data is not with MID, will receive a warning letter to get their car insured.

More and more Florida residents are purchasing scooters to get them around as gas prices increase and economic times stay tough.  A scooter is different from a motorcycle in the sense that they have a step through design where a rider can sit on the seat with their feet flat on a floorboard.  Their engines are also closer to the rear wheel.

One thing often over looked when someone buys a consumer is what type of insurance will need to be carried so the vehicle is covered.  Check with your county for the specific regulations and shop around for Florida auto insurance quotes to see who offers the best deal.  Where insurance is required, it’s usually a minimum amount of personal liability coverage but laws vary so be sure to check with your local motor vehicle authority.

Another thing to remember is that you need a valid drivers license to drive a scooter in most states.  You want to be sure the scooter is properly registered, just like a car, and that your license is current and accurate with an updated address.  You m

Almost everyone knows that the age of a particular driver can affect how much he or she pays for automobile insurance. What many people don’t realize, however, is just how much age affects premium rates. A driver can be affected by age so very much that policies become almost unaffordable. As such, it’s important for you to know, especially if you’re a young driver or have a young driver on your policy, what is fair and just in the automobile industry as it relates to age and what you can do to lower your car insurance premium no matter what your age may be.

In most states in the United States, drivers generally begin driving around the age of fifteen. Typically, they get their learner’s permits around this age and then progress to a provisional license of some sort and then, finally, a real driver’s license. During this period of becoming a new driver, you can expect insurance rates to be extremely high, even with a perfect driving record. If a teen
